Good move by Qantas in reinstating 767 services to CHC.
Air NZ pulled their trans-Tasman 767s out and replaced them with 737s thereby forcing South Island exporters to move their Australia bound goods via Auckland at an extra cost of 20 cents per kilogram.
I was waiting for this to happen so hopefully it will in fact eventuate.
Wake up Air New Zealand!

Btw NZ152, Wirraway is a member of the Pprune forums as well. Take a look at the authors name in the link.

OK. Admittedly I didn't even bother to read the post. All we have seen lately from Wirraway is re-posts of threads from Pprune and from the daily newspapers, even though posting copyright protected material here is prohibited.

Btw I really don't think QF have a snowball's chance in hell of 'spanking' NZ. Lets see what happens when NZ take legal action against QF for predatory pricing.

The "spanking" term was Wirraway's and probably subjective.
Does Qantas spank?? Thought it was more like kick in the arse!

Well I don't like to go against "my own" airline.
Hell, I'm a shareholder now just like you 152! Big grin
BUT, if they insist on leaving gaps like they did in Christchurch, then obviously if someone else thinks it's feasible, then they're going to fill that gap.  Smile

I have just realised that my use of the expression "kick in the arse" may be inappropriate and offensive. I should have said "kick in the goolies." Sorry!
But in the scheme of things, it's just one more shot in the one-upmanship war going on at the moment. Predatory pricing is going to be extremely difficult to prove, if past history is a guide. And these days, it's equally natural to see NZ operating SYD-LAX nonstop, and QF operating AKL-LAX nonstop.
The roo and kiwi are just playing their "mine is bigger than yours" game, and not for the first time. It will settle itself soon enough, I suspect.
I like both carriers, and think they both deserve their place in the pacific arena.

LOL,would love to use your term for the header, but
have got to watch the Ps and Qs on this site.

NZ152

As you know Johan has forbidden news reposts on his
site, and emailed me to put a link, and I am just following
his instruction. On PPruNE's "Dunnunder & Godzone"
(Australia & New Zealand) forum I have been given permission
by the owner of that site to repost news items from
various news sources to do with Australian & NZ aviation, as you can see by looking in that forum,
it's only the odd item I post here.

A link is copyright protected material?

Anyway, QF is on the warpath and all power to them.
IMO it's a damn shame that AirNZ hasn't get the wherewithal to give them some competition in the Oz domestic market but all that's history now unfortunately.
Now if SQ were to put some money into AirNZ ....
