AA/TWA Commuters

Sat Apr 13, 2002 8:23 am

Does Anyone know, After all the TWA aircraft are Painted in AA colors, will Ex TWA Commuters Remain American Connection, or will they be Converted to American Eagle. I know American Eagle has no more J-32s but We have some through Corporate Airlines, so Are they going to Remain in the AE Fleet or Be Phased out

Unless AMR Corp purchases "American Connection" partners Chautauqua, Trans States and Corporate Airlines, they will never be converted to "American Eagle". While TWA was purchased and integrated, American Connection carriers are NOT owned or a part of American Eagle/AMR and their aircraft are not a part of our fleet.

AMR is esentially "contracting out" flying to these companies, at a detriment to its own subsidiary, American Eagle.

AMR is presently embroiled in arbitration over alleged violations of American Eagle’s scope clause. The Eagle pilots union contends that by awarding Chautauqua, Trans States and Corporate Airlines flying opportunities in St. Louis without first offering them to American Eagle pilots, AMR violated contractual clauses that require Eagle to “aggressively pursue flying opportunities.” A ruling is expected this summer. It is predicted to be in favor of AE, and it's expected that the "American Connection" logos will be removed all together.

Delta Express and most Delta Connection (Comair and ASA) carriers are owned by Delta.

No United Express carriers are owned by United.

None of the former TWExpress or TWConnection carriers were owned by TW.

However, three of the US Airways Express carriers are owned by US Airways and Continental Express is owned by CO but is in the process of being spun off as ExpressJet Airlines.

NW owns Pinnacle Airlines, but like ExpressJet will also be spun off.

Of course AmericanEagle is owned by AA.
