When Did NZ Scale Back Their HNL Service Back?

Mon Apr 15, 2002 12:30 pm

I seem to remember NZ serving a lot of the South Pacific islands from HNL. When did they stop / scale back these services from HNL?

I think it was in 2000. They used to fly via serveral destinations.

Rarotonga
Apia

There are now only 2 flights a week to HNL from AKL non-stop 763!

The cutbacks also coincided with NZ dropping the HNL-LAX sector on their 763 flights. NZ 762's and 763's used to be such a common site at HNL!

NZ dropped HNL-LAX in favour of code-sharing with United Airlines.

All the Pacific islands used to fly to HNL now fly to LAX instead.
