AluminumShower- Just because the airport has the capabilities, does not mean the market is there. For example, everybody is saying how the new international terminal at DFW will bring DFW many more international flights. I'd doubt it if brought much more than 5 additional flights from Mexico or Canada, and those being operated by American. True, DFW needs it. Terminal B's 3 longhaul capable gates can get crowded) and Terminal A is facing congestion from the AA widebodies, but all in all, Terminal D(new intl terminal) will not bring exotic airlines from around the world. The terminal could handle it, but there is no market(assuming this terminal would open tomorrow). In 2005, DFW may be a lot larger, but the point is, just because the facilities are there, does not mean the market is there.
The point is, SJC might get a few extra flights, but nothing major other than a stronger committment from AA for NRT services.
