Who Likes The B767 And Y?

Sun Apr 21, 2002 5:37 pm

i personally love the B767 ( specific, the 763).. i feel that the 2-3-2 seating is the most comfortable seating.. and seems tt it is very exclusive to the B767... the looks of the B767 well... love the rotating part though.. wat about our 767 lovers? why do u like it so much?

The 2-3-2 seating is THE BEST! I agree

it isnt a BIG and doesnt feel as crowded inside as a 747! ... i HATE 747 seating.. 10 across and so uncomfy!
Being from Australia its basically all i ever fly on!...(long haul)
Which is annoying!

I wish for 767's! Theyre the coolest and feels as though you have so much more space than on a jumbo.

However for business class the 767 is crap as it usually is 2-2-2 seating which is only 1 less than Y class
It isnt as luxurious as a 747

I much prefer flying business class on a 747 ! Especially upper deck.

So i guess it all depends

2-3-2 and 2-4-2 are definetly my preference for longhauls.

Yes, the seating is defintiely a likeable feature in the 767. My fav is also the 767-300... I try to fly it as often as I can. My last flight on it was last year from ORD-SFO so I have to make an effort to get on another one soon.

I guess for me it's all about looks. The 763 looks awesome... both from far away and close-up (and of course inside). It doesn't have the mean, angry look that the 757 has from the front and doesn't look overly huge like the 747 from the side. It looks and feels like a friendly aircraft. Everything looks proportionate and in place, even the wheels. Of course, it looks the best in UAL and AA livery. I will say, however that the all white paint scheme looks a bit awkward on the 767... it makes it look smaller.

It's also one of my fav aircrafts to ride in. Next to the A330, I think it has the smoothest takeoff and climb. Flaps fully deployed also looks great on final approach.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

The B767 is not my favourite aircraft but I sure still love it. My friends didn't like the B767 after flying in it. Everyone condemed it being very cramp. Personally I have flown 3 B767s and found them okay. Very comfortable aircraft. But I did found my landings to be rough. It is a very naive and innocent looking plane. Sure I do love the rotation of the B767 especially the -300!

I've never flown a 767 myself but afew people I no that have say it is a great aircraft!
Hopefully i'm going to Christchurch in afew weeks so hopefully I will get on a 762 flight on Air NZ! I will try anyway!
It is a great looking aircraft though and the -300 seems to have a really impressive climb rate!

sometimes, the B767 looks silly.... from the front view... while compared to the B747, it looks pregnant.. haha.. so, the B767 still looks like a teen full of energy!..but slightly shorter than A300/310 i suppose.. are they?

I think it's the most "plane-looking" aeroplane.

And that's what makes it look elegant!

Some business class seating is 2-2-1 or 2-1-2 in the B767... i dont remember which airline it was, may have been Qantas... but i know some airlines have only 5 across... but remember a lot of the 767s are only used on busy trunk routes in the states, or for BA short busy Euro routes... so having 6 across doesnt really matter too much... maybe it would if you flew one between the States and Europe...

After I've flown QF 763 from HKG to Australia last summer,I started to like it.The 2-3-2 seating is the best ever. It's so comfortable that you feel like being in the business class.

I like the 767 because it looks so cool and stylish. It's one of those designs that is quite simple yet it captures the imagination. Everything about the 767 looks perfect to me, the exterior, interior, the seating, the cockpit etc. I love it.

I agree with Trickijedi and Arsenal@LHR that the 767 is a stylish and elegant aircraft in all its simplicity. Indeed, it is a welcoming, friendly airplane - nice light, airy cabin. That's why it's my personal favorite. I also admire 767's versitality in operating both short- and long-haul routes.

My favorite plane! Nothing beats the 2-3-2 seating in coach, and the 2-2-2 in business and the 2-1-2 in first. I have flown across the atlantic 3 times in AA 767s and those flights were heavenly.

It looks too plain to me. Very boring from the outside with no distinctive appearance. The takeoffs seem kinda sluggish and uninteresting to me as well.

I agree with the interior though. It seems comfortably 'intimate' while you're sitting in it. It doesn't give you that "flying movie theatre" effect like the 747, 777, or DC10/MD11.

I still prefer to fly any of those widebodies over the 767 anytime.

I LOVE the B767. Partly because my first flight ever was on B767-200ER, and as everybody said it is spacious, the seating is very convenient, and the aircraft is so flexible and nimble. The take-offs are so gracious, it is like pure pleasure to be inside a B767 during a take-off. I like 747 but it is kinda clumsy, and B737 is so small....

Like most people, I love the B767 (Who could dislike it, other than those hardcore AI fans?) The a/c really is perfect, in all aspects. The B767 was my wheels for my first trip to Europe.

I find the 767 to be a very good replacement of the DC-10 (for AA and UA atleast) as well as a pefect plane for trans-con or ocean travel. The seating is nice, even in coach, while on a 747 you have 3-4-3 which is not nice on me. I think its pefect sized and can handle just about any job.

I love the 767, my favorite is the 767-400. The take-off with those GE engines is awesome and the 764 is so smooth.

Yes, the 2-3-2 seating is the best. The 2-4-2 on the Airbus is ok too. I just flew two transatlantic legs with the 767 last month and it was pretty nice.

Yes, I love the 767. I just got my type rating on it, and am looking forward to flying it. The interior seems much nicer to ride in than the larger widebodies - more intimate without feeling like you're crammed into a large waiting room.

One comparison I've heard about the 767 vs. our old DC-10's, is about the wing. The 767 is designed with a high lift wing so we fly a little bit slower and a lot higher than the DC-10, which was designed for higher speed. On takeoff in the 767 it actually gets a little light on the gear by 80 knots, whereas the DC-10 is like driving a half-million pound truck down the runway at 160 knots until you pull the control wheel back for rotation. Then it starts flying.

I'm really looking forward to my time in the cockpit of our new 767's.

yeah, thanxs for all the comments.. i think even on a 7++ hour flight from BNE-SIN-BNE, the 763 the Qf operates proves to be very comfortable.. although well, it is not as quiet as the newer aircrafts.. i nv love the B767 that much until that flight.. also, am i correctthat the B767 is slightly shorter while compared to the A310/300 in terms of the height?

Why would anyone not like the 767? The 2-3-2 seating is perfect, it's performance is awesome (takeoff in particular), and has plenty of galley/lavatory space! What more could you want?
