Christian Heinzmann Leaves Luxair

Thu Apr 25, 2002 4:41 am

Hello guys,

Christian Heinzmann, CEO of Luxair, replaces Etienne Schouppe by the NMBS (Nationale Maatschappij Der Belgische Spoorwegen, or in English: the Belgian railway company).

After a whole career in the aviation industry (worked for VLM Airlines, Air Europe, Sobelair, Trans Europe Airways - EBA), he will replace Etienne Schouppe as big boss of the Belgian Railway company NMBS.

He was CEO by Luxair since the first of January 2001.

Good luck Christiann  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Frederic

Good luck Mr. Heinzmann! Are you going with pension or will you start an airline again? Thanks for your confidence during your VLM Airlines period.

Do you think guys that this is a good decision?

Christiann always worked almost his whole life in the aviation business.

Another thing, who will replace him as CEO for Luxair?

Frederic

Hey guys,

I just heard on Radio Donna that Christian Heinzmann will not become the boss of the NMBS.

Christiann Heinzmann hasn't given a declaration yet, but one of the problems should be that he, every time he wants to take a decission, should need the permission of a director of the NMBS.

It seems that he will not leave Luxair than  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Who knows more and can confirm this message?

Frederic

"Striking news"...

Just hear on two belgian evenings news that Christian Heizmann have left the SNCB-NMBS direction!

I.Durant, Transport ministry, just announced that this afternoon. One of the reason, seems to be pressures from labour associations...!!!!!!!!!!!

Once more, a nice example of what belgian "sacro-saints syndicats" can do...

I really began to hate those guys, so narrow minded, and so unflexible, they're only disgusting... it makes me feel sick.

Regards,

A young angry belgian,

Benjamin

To Sterne82 :
1. Do not forget that 01.05 is a holiday.
2. Do not forget you have a minimum legal holiday and
extra holiday.
3. Do not forget your wage rise if the index goes up.
4. Do not forget, if you fall ill, there is a good social
security.
Tell me Sterne82, who fought all those years to get those things ? Talking about narrow minded people...

Don't blame the situation only on the syndicates. The Board of Directors are also not that innocent as they appear to be and they are more politically inspired than the syndicates.

I think the fact that Heinzmann resignes is more likely the reason Sabena 690 mentions in his message.

Regards, Karl

The reason I gave was the reason Miss Durant gave... so, between sabena690 and Miss Durant, my choice is easy...

Moreover, 100 years ago, they were good and needed, but now they're totaly unneeded! Look, with for example... TEC, SN, SNCB, and lots of enterprises in wallonia...

More and more people began to seriously hate them. But that's your opinion, I've got mine, and that's all.

Regards,

Benjamin

@Sterne82,

The reason I gave was the reason Miss Durant gave... so, between sabena690 and Miss Durant, my choice is easy...

Is it so difficult to believe me maybe  Laugh out loud Am I saying so much untrue facts here maybe?  Smile

To reply on it Sterne.
I wrote here literally the words that I heard on the news. And the presentator said that this were there the words of Durant.
So...

It seems that Heinzmann couldn't agree with the fact that he had to ask permission for everything he wanted to do. And there were some other problems too I heard...

Do not attack me if this facts are false, I only heard them on the radio news, so...

Regards,
Frederic

I think that Christian Heinzman has taken a good decision.
There are a lot of challenges for the SNCB/NMBS in following years (end of the monopolies of the national railway companies) and Christian Heinzman has only experience in the private sector where the unions are not stronger than in public companies.
It's better to stay CEO of a little profitable company than of a big ship very difficult to navigate...

Regards, LAurent.

Am I missing the pint over here?

These last few years, the railway unions went on strike, to object against Schouppe's decisions, and now he is about to being replaced with Heinzmann, all the unions go like "oh, no we don't need somebody from the aviation industry, we prefer Schouppe, he knew what he was talking about..."

OK, maybe Heinzmann isn't really aware of the railway industry, but at least give him a chance...maybe he's just the one with fresh, new ideas...instead of hiring somebody who already has a certain opinion and knows the NMBS really well...think out of the black box guys...

But what the heck, Belgian people deserve a little bit of recognition on this forum!!

Hey guys,

Do not forget that Schouppe is from the CD&V, and that the French PS still has a big, even a very big influence in the NMBS.

If you talk with someone of the railways, they still like Schouppe!!
Normally, Schouppe didn't have to be replaced, but the reason is just because he is not from the 'partie socialiste'. The Walloon people still 'eat' out of the hands of Spitaels, ... I hope that the next generation will see that, if you talk about a scandal, that always the PS is mentioned in things like this. Now, they still don't seem to believe that.

In my opinion, Christiann took the only right decision he could take.
He is smart enough to know how the NMBS works, if I was him, I would have done the same...

Frederic

I Want Müller For The Job!

Fri May 03, 2002 3:53 am

Why don't they ask Christoph Müller for the job???
He would be perfect for it!!
After all he's already used to doing dirty jobs and beeing a puppet on a string!?

ROFLMAO Erasmus  Big thumbs up

Yeah, he is used to do some tricks with companies which are in serious problems.

But this time there is no Swissair, maybe he will do it in a proper way now  Wink/being sarcastic

Hm, Christophe Muller.
That man joined a few weeks ago Deutsche Post. DP bought a large stake into the company I am working for.Muller wil be responsible for the group which studies synergies, procurement plans and rationalisation.
I wonder if I have to panic now ?
