Britannia's New Livery

Thu Apr 25, 2002 7:05 am

A Britannia 763 came to my airport about two weeks ago sporting their new livery, and I have one question.

What's that thing on its tail in red? It looks like a smiley face that's missing an eye.

Britannia is part of the TUI travel group, which is owned by Preussag, a german company with lots of activities in the holiday market.
The smiley face is the logo of TUI and can also be seen on planes of Hapag Lloyd and NEOS (Italian charter airline)

Marcel

Ahhh, the wonderful "world of TUI" livery!!

Must say I was very dismissive at first but flew Yankee Echo (763) last week and it doesn't look too bad. Better than on the 75s anyway...
I used to love the smell of Jet-A in the morning...

better than their old boring scheme - shame about the squiggle on the tail, at least they avoided the all white body with wishy washy logo !

"better than their old boring scheme" er.....no! The previous scheme was far more attractive and original than this effort. Unfortunately another example of a marketing agency that were given a fat cheque, went out and spent it all on drugs and booze, then came in monday morning and realised the client was due to visit so had to knock something up in a bit of a hurry!  Big grin

Changing the subject a bit....bearing in mind Britannia, My Travel, Monarch and Air 2000 are all repainting their fleets at the mo, does anyone know where they're being done? I think I read that MON were using Teesside but I've not seen anything on the others.

seems like I'm the only one who prefers the new colours !
Probably because I'm sick to death of seeing them in MAN over the years - anything is an improvement !

They could of at least come up with a different color scheme for Hapag Lloyd and Britannia, they now look like they are the same airline!

Dragon-wings,

They are the same airline (effectively).

The only thing I detest about the new TUI livery is the fact at first glace it looks like a water closet.  Insane
