Same Airportcode

Thu Apr 25, 2002 11:38 pm

It is strange, two different airports have the same IATA three letter code:
BHX is Birmingham UK (ICAO: EGBB) and also Nexred, Eureka, CA, US (ICAO: KBHX). How come?

I found this on the airport locater site:

Am I wrong or is the second code an ICAO 4 letter code only?
In the CRS, BEX is "only" Birmingham.

More an error I think, couldn't imagine that there are two airports with the same code...

Would be similar to 5 different dollar bills and all with the same serial no.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
