Hello,

A340-500 Orders:

Emirates: 6
Singapore Airlines: 5
Air Canada: 2
Khalifa: 3 (only an LOI, will probably be A340-300 instead)
Qatar Government: 2

A340-600 Orders:

Virgin Atlantic: 10
Swissair: 11 CANCELLED
Lufthansa: 10
Egyptair: 2
China Eastern: 5
Arolineas Argentinas: 6 CANCELLED
Cathay Pacific: 3 (from ILFC)
Air Canada: 2
South African: 9 (some purchasing, some leasing)
Emirates: 8 (only an LOI which will expire in December - Airbus have to develop an increased MTOW A340-600)

Hope that helps!

Jeremiah

When did AR cancel their's? I believe that AR are getting 6 A346's in 2004-2006.

Air Canada is getting at least 3 A346's and possibly another one from the Swissair cancellations.

Hello,

Well it would be nice if AR were getting their A340-600's but I thought that was more based on rumours than fact! Did AR ever release anything saying it?

Aerolineas Argentinas signed a memorandum of understanding for 12 A340s on 20 November 1998, specifying six to be of the -200 and -300 variants and the other six (for delivery in 2003 and 2004) to be A340-600s.

Backfire,

But didn't AR go bankrupt and are currently only flying a vastly reduced schedule.

Aerolineas was bought by the Marsans Group, relieving SEPI of its ownership. One of the takeover conditions I understand is that 22 aircraft must be replaced and $50m must be put into Aerolineas.

Hello,

Anyone know what route (and when) will get the first A340-600 service please?

Thanks,

Best regards,

I believe VS will fly the first A340-600 revenue flights starting later this summer when they start receiving their planes. The primary routes for these flights will be LHR-HKG-LHR and LHR-NRT-LHR.

Nice to see that VS is flying the new 346 on his route to HKG. I will have to survey them, so I will try to be on there first flight and upload the pictures.

Should be great
