Delta was the launch customer for the 767-400ER, it's first a/c was delivered on 29th August 2000, but Continental (who had their first delivered on 31st August 2000) was the first to put the 767-400ER into commercial service (2 weeks before Delta).

NorthStarDC4M, you're data on the erj-135 and -140 is inaccurate. Continental Express was the launch customer on the -135 and Eagle the -140.

Continental Express is also the launch customer on the ERJ-145XR, due certification in September and with 8 deliveries slated for October.

Wasn't Swissair the launch customer of both the 742 aswell as the 743?!. I'm sure it wasn't Qantas, they operated the first 742 with 10 upperdeck windows!

How about the first customer to order an aircraft type?

I no Air NZ ordered the first 744 in July 1984!
It may have been 85 because the 744 was launched in 85 but I heard 84.
PA ordered the first 741's!

boeing.com says that KLM was the 747-200 launch customer
