BA Fleet update 7th May 02

A320

G-EUUD d/d TLS-LHR as BA9278P/29Apr. First revenue service
was BA1384/01May LHR-MAN.

G-MEDB 'Rendezvous' (wfu 05Mar) ferried LHR-GLA as KJ001P
20Mar.

G-MEDD 'Crossing Borders' final revenue service was BA6722
11Apr EVN-TBS-LHR. Stored at LHR.

G-TTOE d/d as GT505/11Apr TLS-LGW. First revenue service
was BA6944/12Apr LGW-TUN.

A321

G-MEDG ferried LTN-LHR as KJ001P/09Apr. First revenue
service was BA6701/11Apr LHR-BEY.

GB Airways have ordered a 3rd a/c, which will be delivered
Dec02 (G-TTIC).

BAe 146

G-MANS ferried EXT-IOM as TH061E/16Apr. In service as
JE301/17Apr IOM-LGW, now in 'Union Flag' c/s.

G-MIMA repainted at Southend from Manx c/s into BA Union
Flag and rolled out as such on 27Apr. Ferried SEN-IOM
as TH061P/28Apr. First service in this livery was JE885
28Apr IOM-LTN.

ZS-NOU 'Blomsterang', no longer in Comair service. Will
shortly be in Kulula c/s

ZS-NOV 'Delftblue Daybreak' has been taken out of Comair
service.

ZS-OBM 'Union Flag' has been transferred to Kulula and is
now in their c/s.

ZS-OBO 'Benyhone Tartan', still current but may swap
with ZS-OBM as a Kulula a/c later this year.

G-BUHL (ex GB Airways), still at EMA (all white).

G-DOCK, sale to Comair has been postponed until Oct01.
A/c is still at GLA (since 29Mar) on maintenance but will
return to BA ops at LHR circa 03May

G-OFRA 'Bauhaus', ferried LGW-LHR as BA9275E/23Apr for
repaint into Go-Fly c/s. Positioned back to LGW as
BA9282E/30Apr. Due to d/d to Go on 03May.

G-OHAJ 'Delftblue Daybreak', final revenue service was
BA2911/30Apr MAN-LGW. Stood down, TT 8,711 hrs, 6,983
cycles. Due to ferry to LHR on 19May for repaint into
Go-Fly c/s.

G-TREN (ex GB Airways) still at EMA (all white). One of
these (TREN or BUHL) is rumoured to be destined for Futura.

ZS-OKD 'Whale Rider', repainted into Union Flag c/s Apr02

ZS-OKE 'Animals and Trees', repainted into Union Flag c/s Aug01

ZS-SBO 'Koguty Lowickie', repainted into Union Flag c/s Mar02

ZS-OTG (ex G-DOCJ), first revenue service with Comair was
BA6401/08Apr JNB-CPT

G-BDXK 'Chelsea Rose', flew Cardiff-Mojave as BA9177P
09Apr for desert storage.

G-BNLB 'Union Flag', last revenue service was BA064/29Mar
NBO-LHR. Ferried to Cardiff as BA9181P/01Apr for long term
parking. TT 55,074 hrs, 8,182 cycles.

G-BNLI 'Benyhone Tartan', last service with British Asia
Airways titles was BA142/28Mar DEL-LHR. Repainted with
standard BA titles on 29Mar and back in service as BA017
30Mar LHR-SIN.

G-BNLU (old c/s), final service in this livery was BA142
30Apr DEL-LHR. Being repainted into Union Flag c/s

G-CIVA 'Chelsea Rose', last service with British Asia
Airways titles was BA058/27Mar CPT-LHR. Repainted with
standard BA titles on 28Mar and back in service as BA025
01Apr LHR-HKG.

G-CIVB 'Chelsea Rose', last service with British Asia
Airways titles was BA074/03Apr LOS-LHR. Repainted with
standard BA titles on 05Apr and back in service as BA099
07Apr LHR-YYZ.

G-CIVF, CIVG, CIVH, CIVK all old c/s, all due to be
repainted into Union Flag c/s over the next few weeks.

G-BIKM departed LHR as Boeing213 on 23Apr for freighter
conversion in the USA.

G-BMRB 'Union Flag', final revenue service was BA551
01May FCO-LHR. Ferried to Southend same day as BA9262E.
Stood down, TT 30,071 hrs, 22,057 cycles.

as BA9254P/12Apr for desert storage.

G-BNWY 'Union Flag', in store since Oct01, ferried
BHX-LHR as BA9269E/07Apr for pre-service prep. Not yet
back in service as at 02May.

G-YMMJ rolled out on 22Apr with "Official Airline England
Football Team" titles and logo on fuselage sides. First
flight with these marks was BA145/24Apr LHR-DAC.

G-YMMK rolled out on 23Apr with "Official Airline England
Football Team" titles and logo on fuselage sides. First
flight with these marks was BA005/23Apr LHR-NRT.

G-ZZZD (old c/s), final revenue service was BA262/29Apr
RUH-LHR. Titles and logo painted out, and ferried LHR-CWL
as BA9184P for parking. TT 24,938 hrs, 5,755 cycles.
Due to be decommissioned and returned to Boeing.

G-ZZZE 'Union Flag', final revenue service was BA082
12Apr ABV-ACC-LHR. Stood down, TT 24,263 hrs, 5,710 cycles.
Titles and logo removed on 13Apr and ferried to Cardiff
as BA9182P/15Apr for decommissioning. Aircraft is being
returned to Boeing.

CRJ

G-MSKO (white tail) stood down from MSK service on 17Apr.

CRJ700

G-MRSI d/d to Maersk UK at BHX on 10Apr. First revenue
service was BA8344/14Apr BHX-BFS.

Questions:

1) Why is G-ZZZE ferried to Cadiff, i thought the 777s were doing well!?

2) G-MEDB, why stood down?

3) G-BNLB, why parked @ Cardiff??

Hmm 777 - G-BMRB actually flew from LHR-EDI-LHR on Saturday 4th, I can say that with some authority from the RHS! it went to Southend on the Sunday, for maintainence and coming to an airport near you soon!
