A Trip In A Special Airliner.

Fri May 10, 2002 4:39 am

Hi!

I know that most of us here fly quite regulary and I believe that at least once you've flown in a special airliner, the topic it's quite wide and open, perhaps the first ever built airliner, any model, perhaps an airliner with a special livery, perhaps an airliner that anyone famous flew too, well I'm sure we'll find out really interesting events among us. Here goes mine:

1981/09/07 - Geneva to Frankfurt - I flew with Lufthansa, the airplane was a Boeing 737-130 and the registration D-ABEA, the very first 737 to fly schedule services.

1998/08/29 - JFK to LHR - I flew with BA, the airplane was a Boeing 767-336ER, registration G-BNWR that I found out latter that carried Queen Elisabeth II to a trip to Korea. When I flew it still wear "Chelsea Rose" tail.

I flew this DC-10 during the summer of 1981, from JFK to MAN (B-BELO, Southern Belle):

I flew this aircraft but, I wouldn't call it special. Ironically, I flew this aircraft two weeks earlier to the day before she crashed on 9/11.
