737-200 Cabin Size?

Fri May 10, 2002 12:12 pm

Does anyone know how long and wide and tall the cabin size is in a 737-200? I have been looking for specs and can't seem to find it.

Also, any pilots that have flown the 737-200. What is its fuel burn rate?

I don't understand why some airlines are retiring their 737-200s already. Didn't the last one roll out sometime in 1986? Is the -300, -400, etc that much more fuel effiecent?

For one thing, their engines are very dirty. 732's smoke more than any other aircraft on a clear day... Except maybe for 722's.

The aircraft also has a less efficient wing, gets shorter range, had less advanced avionics, less asthetically pleasing cabin, and the JT8D's on the 732 are louder and more fuel hungry than the CFM-56 on the rest of the 737's.

I actually think the cabin is much nicer in a 732 than the second gen planes, but the fuel burn is bad on the older ones. I don't have any exact figures though.
