How Long Will QF's EZE Service Last I Wonder?

Mon May 13, 2002 2:11 am

I ask after reading this note on BA's website:

'LANCHILE-QANTAS CODE-SHARE LINKS SANTIAGO AND SYDNEY HUBS:

LanChile and Qantas are linking their Santiago and Sydney hubs through a new code-share agreement. LanChile will launch thrice-weekly flights between the Australian and Chilean capitals on 1 July, flying via Auckland, with all services also carrying Qantas’ QF codes. Passengers will be able to connect at Santiago with LanChile’s extensive South American network, covering Chile, Argentina, Brazil and other countries throughout the region. In Sydney, there will be convenient connections to Qantas Australian domestic and South Pacific timetable.'

With such agreements, how long will the present SYD-EZE service last?

SYD-EZE is being discontinued. I think It was anounced when the Argentine crisis began.

Read it from the horses mouth in a press release issued on the 26th of March:
http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/dyn/au/publicaffairs/details?ArticleID=2002/mar02/Q2672
Forth paragraph down says it all.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO  Sad  Sad  Sad

No more QF at my airport.

Well, we still have the option of Aerolineas Argentinas. I think that now that I cn see a sort of "patriotism" in my country, we'll start taking aerolineas:

*A more direct flight
*Cheaper fares
*We beneffit(sp?) our fellow compatriots.
*We can pay in pesos....

Well afterall... GOOD that qantas is leaving. I'm not so sure about how many argentinians will LAN carry to SYD.

LOL Coachman! I have seen it 3 times in the past 3 weeks or so! I wonder if OJB or OJC will operate the final service?
