Republic Gates At MSP

Wed May 15, 2002 11:55 pm

I was poring through some stuff I'd gotten while on a trip to MKE in 1979 right after the North Central/Southern merger to form Republic, which was later merged into Northwest in 1986. My question is this:

RC and NW were both serious players out of MSP during the period between the mergers (1979-1986). Which concourses/gates did RC operate out of at MSP during that time period? (My 1981 United airport guide doesn't give any RC detail).

I believe Northwest was operating out of the gold and red concourses, while Republic was operating out of the green concourse.

If I remember an old MSP map I saw I think Republic used the gates on the Red Concourse. I'm not sure, however.

According to the MSP map in my June '84 Republic timetable, Republic had 10 of the 12 gates in the old Green concourse and 2 gates in the Blue concourse. I hope that helps.

I know Ozark and then TWA operated out of the Red concourse, so I'd bet that ZID is right.
