Macedonia:
MAT Macedonian Airlines have extended their leasing contract for two Boeing 737-300s from JAT. I am not so sure as to when the two planes will be returned, as some people in the Macedonian government want Macedonia's national airline to not only operate aircraft from JAT.

Croatia:
As far as i am concerned, Air Adriatic still have not begun with their originally scheduled services.

Bosnia:
New charter flights between SSJ and JFK will likely be operated by North America Airlines during the tourist season. The aircraft type should be the Boeing 757-200.

Bulgaria:
Have Balkan recieved their two leased Boeing 737-300s from Lufthansa?

Serbia & Montenegro:
A few days ago, JAT opened their first flight to Dubai, making it the airlines 41st destination. As scheduled, flight JU098 arrived at 5:45 local time. This route is operated by the Boeing 727-200, four times weekly.

Thanks for the above info. Would you know whatever happened to Avioimpex and why they ceased most of their operations and what are they up to at the moment.

Also have you heard anything regarding Macedonian Airlines purchasing new airbus aircaft?

The affair in the Macedonian air industry is very strange. Last year the government of Macedonia proclaimed MAT Macedonian Airlines as the national airline of Macedonia, to the dissapointment of Avioimpex.

Since the terrorist attacks in Macedonia, by radical-fundamentalist Albanians, Skopje airport was closed for a while. Unfortunately this affected the cash flow in the airline. The airline is now making a gradual turnaround, however with a significantly reduced schedule.

With regards to MAT Macedonian Airlines, there are no indications of the airline making any aircraft purchases. MAT is heavily reliant on JAT. As a result, the technical workforce around aircraft maintenance comes from Serbia. MATs pilots also mainly come directly from the Pilot Academy in Vrsac, Northern Serbia. It is expected that MAT continue leasing aircraft, since the airline is not in the capacity to take care of its fleet. How long will MAT lease 737s from JAT remains to be seen.
