[20 May 2002] Russia`s top cargo airline Volga-Dnepr contemplates using newly acquired Antonov An-124-100 cargo aircraft capable of carrying 120 tons as a pledge in the loan market. ``The pledge price of one An-124 of older manufacture may amount to nearly 5 - 6 mln US dollars.``, Alexey Isaykin, Volga-Dnepr DG was quoted as saying.
According to Mr. Isaykin, pursuant to the fleet capacity review, the airline may need at least five new An-124s in a few next years. The acquisition of new planes will require about 100 mln US dollars, which will be raised through an unspecified foreign partner in the western loan market.
Volga-Dnepr is reported to be in talks on the conditions for attracting the western partner to set up a credit facility for the future An-124 deal.
Does anyone out there have a JP available and can post here the various details of the Volga-Dnepr An-124 fleet? Am just wondering what their older An-124s were bought for and when.
