LHR Runway Questions

Wed May 22, 2002 10:23 pm

They alternate 27R/27L and change @ 3 o clock.

now, say for example this week they land on 27R in the morn and 27L in the afternoon, when do they swap and become 27L for landings in the morn and 27R in the afternoon? is it at midnight on sunday eve?
also, is there ever a day when they dont sawp @ 15:00 and if so why?

As far as i remember, iw as told once that they swap back once the airport is closed for the evening, eg, 27R in the afternoon, then in the early hours, LHR closes for a couple of hours then when they re-open it's back to 27L.
It keeps the locals happy, apparently!!

I think it's the same seven days a week.
