According to Eurocontrol the legs with most flights are the following:

Madrid-Barcelona 3447
Rome-Milan 2090
Paris-Toulouse 2009
Oslo-Trondheim 1815
Oslo-Bergen 1768
Paris-Marseille 1716
Barcelona-Palma 1622
Oslo-Stavanger 1495
Paris-London 1478

*number of flights both ways pr month

The Oslo-Stavanger leg will increase during the next month due to Color Air starting service on Stavanger.
3 of the 10 busiest legs are in Norway!!

What, no London - Dublin? That is a surprise. A long time ago somebody had a quizz on Airliners Net asking for the busiest route in Europe. London - Dublin was the answer. I guess it has now changed (Dramatically)

I read somewhere that London - Dublin is the busiest route but maybe in number of pax carried, I'm not sure at this moment.
I think this numbers includes all type of aviation, not only the commercial. It's hard to belive every day more than 100 scheduled flights between Madrid and Barcelona.

It's quite amazing that Norway, a country of about 4.5 million people, can support that much air traffic. Huh, Norwegians must get round. Also I was surprised that Dublin-London wasn't part of that. I know on occasion Aer Lingus will fly A330s on the route, but even that is once in a blue moon, so I don't see how DUB-London could not be on that list. I used to like to take the long way to Ireland (train-ferry), although I have flown on BA.

I've heard that London-Dublin is the world's busiest international route. But it seems like the domestic routes in Europe are busier.

Eurocontrol is listing the number of flights between the different destinations...not number of passengers.
I guess the popular routes London-Dublin are carried out by larger planes.
The Norwegian routes are made by B737-3/4/5/6/700 and MD-80's.
