Aeromexico 743 News

Mon Sep 20, 1999 10:02 am

A while back, there was a post about aeromexico acquiring a 747-300. I can now confirm that the aircraft is indeed ex-swissair 747-357(SCD) HB-IGG msn 23751/ln 686. The aircraft is being leased by its owner(1st securities Bank) to Air Atlanta, who,in turn will dry lease it to Aeromexico. AMX crews will indeed fly the aircraft themselves. Currently, the aircraft is parked out in the desert, and is registered N375TC. It will be delivered in early November, and will probabally carry an Icelandic(TF-) registration. In other news, the airline has leased an ex-SAS/Transbrasil from AAR for 6 years. It is a 767-283(ER), and is registered N301AR. I beleve it carries the revised version of the new livery, where the colors extend the legnth of the fuselage at a constant diameter, instead of up-sloping.

Hi! Hey AA757! A friend told me that the crews were unsatisfied with the fact about bringing the 747 to Mexico... Can you confirm this? Because I don´t think there is a problem having a 747 in Mexico... Saludos, Joaquín Mexico City / Ciudad de México
