737-900 Cabin Layout?

Tue Sep 21, 1999 12:07 am

Since the 737-900 will be almost as long as a 757, I'm curious to know if the interior will have 2 cabin dividers, one after first class, and another in the rear section, similiar to the 757 layout. Anyone on this forum work for AS or CO? What's the psgr breakdown, First/Coach? Will there be 2 bulkheads on the 737-900? Also, will this version also have coast to coast range similiar to the -700 and -800?

The 737-900 can only seat the same number of people as the 737-800 (max 189 I think). The standard config (according to the boeing web site) for the -800 is 162 (with 12 first and 150 coach seating) and the -900 is 177 (with 12 first and 165 coach). If you look at the boeing web site, you can see that the -900 comes pretty close to having coast to coast range, but it is hard to tell with the size of the image.

If I recall correctly, CO will configure the 739 as 14/156, compared to 14/141 for the 738 and 12/112 for the 737.

AS will configure the 900s with 12 seats in First Class and 162 in Coach.

To answer your second question, there will only be one cabin divider...between first and coach. However, the way CO and AS are configuring their planes, there will be a little more leg room then on the average 757. I am hoping there will be 4 restrooms, but I don't know for sure.

Iahcsr is correct... the CO 737-900 will have a cap of 14F/156Y. The first of 10 a/c will arrive May 2001. The a/c will have 4 lavs -1 in F/C and 3 in the back (2 on one side and 1 on the other fwd of the galleys). CO shows that the a/c has CLE-west coast range but I believe it is to be used on EWR-Florida routes.
