AA Leading Customer For Many ACs

Tue May 28, 2002 2:35 pm

This is relatively unsubstantiated but it seems as though American is the biggest customer for:

MD-80s
ERJs
ATR42/72
and possibly 757

Does any other airline have the most of so many different types of aircraft?

Maybe United with
A32x
777
and.... CRJs?

I believe Delta actually has more 757s than American. They also have the largest fleet of 763s to my knowledge.

That's probably true... I forgot to add F100s though.

...And Southwest is easily the biggest customer for the 737, with over 360 examples currently in service. Not sure if JAL or SQ is the biggest 747 customer tho. Regards.

I think UA is the biggest 777 customer, UA has something like over 50 777's.

Delta is the biggest 767 operator.

Either JAL or BA have the most 747's

UA has 60 777s in service and is the biggest operator of the type. BA is second with 45 (of which two are stored) and AA third with 43. SQ will surpass AA next year in January. The777Man

Delta DID have the largest 757 fleet, but AA's takeover of TWA put them in a distant second.

So that would leave AA as the biggest operator of
757
MD-80
and F-100
ATR42/72

I don't think any other airline leads in so many different a/c types. Well, if you can call it a "lead"... its a rather insignificant statistic.

no Delta did not have the biggest 757 fleet w/o TWA 757 at AA. AA has w/o TWA 123 757 and Delta has 121

btw twa had 24 757

Northwest has the biggest DC-9 and A320 fleet, AA has the most MD-82/83 a/c, but Delta has the most MD-88's and 727's.

Ironchain: Northwest does not have the largest A320 fleet, those honors belong to UA.
