Wed May 29, 2002 1:48 am

Hi everyone im going to see my brother in Tokyo in October, and would like some advice. Im a Student (so im poor), the cheapest flight is with Turkish Airlines, form Heathrow to Istanbul, then to Narita.
I assume its an A340 to Narita?, has anybody had any experience of Longhaul/Shorthaul flights with Turkish Airlines-service,comfort,time-keeping etc?
ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED AND NEEDED!!!

I lived in Stoke Newington in North London. There was a very sizeable Turkish population in the area and lots of Turkish shops and businesses. I used to buy this delicious cherry juice from Turkey, if they serve this onboard, then this alone would be reason to fly Turkish.

I've only flown Turkish domestically, but they were quite good; I have heard reports they are a surprisingly quality airline internationally as well.

The sour cherry juice, or visne (VEESH-nay) is delicious, and makes a great cocktail with vodka.

The two people I know who have flown TK were surprised by the quality of the inflight service.

I know what you mean about the cherry juice as we have the exact same drink in Greece but we call it Visinada. I agree that this is reason enough to fly TK. Yum!

SPRINGBOK,

I flew Turkish Airlines 4 years ago from JFK to Bahrain via Istanbul and back. The service was as mentioned above, very satisfying, and with Istanbul's new airport terminal, the connection experience will be great.

Thanks

Hussam
