Wed May 29, 2002 4:45 am

MIAT Mongolian Airlines will replace their two Boeing 727-200 with new 737-800. With the first aircraft, which is be leased via GATX, destinations like China, Japan or Korea will be served. Their single Airbus A310 will remain in service as well as their Antonov fleet.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines is apparently going to lose the word "MIAT" and be known as Mongolian Airlines. "MIAT" actually refers to the civil aviation administration along the lines of "CAAC" in China.

The first Boeing 737-800 will be delivered to Ulaanbaatar in early July 2002, and after a short period, it will be deployed on flights to Japan (Narita and Osaka), China (Beijing) and Soth Korea (Seoul). And from a source within Mongolian Airlines (OM/MGL), the B737-800 will be equipped with the extended wing-tips!

NRT will be a new destination, isn't it?
The 727 will leave Mongolian Airlines or MIAT (still like to call them MIAT)  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
