Does anyone else think BA's website is confusing?
Is it maintained/designed in-house or by some outside
web designing firm?

I must admit BA's website is not the greatest, it's not bad either. The main page is a bit dull and if u want to look at seats map and stuff, you have to dig deep and navigate your way through to find them.

Emirates website is excellent.
