The €uropean Commission said a plan by Airbus to make a plane which flies on Hydrogen is off to a flying start.
The project, "shows use of liquid hydrogen is technically feasible, and would greatly reduce the environmental impact of aviation without affecting safety."
The €U wants Hydrogen planes as they are more environmentally friendly and therefore reduce the contribution to the Greenhouse €ffect.
"Hydrogen is much lighter than kerosene, and has a higher energy content," said Reiner Dunker, the project's scientific adviser. "But it is a high-volume fuel that would require larger fuel tanks."
Boeing is going along the line of fuel cells.
