MY Airways, a new Vancouver-based carrier, may begin charter flights to Hawai‘i in the
coming months. David Ho, owner and chairman of MY Airways, announced plans for thenew carrier at a luncheon in Vancouver in February. The carrier hopes to take to theskies this summer – after the securing of aircraft, licenses and staff is completed. Otherdetails include:
In addition to Hawai‘i, the airline views Mexico as one of its initial core markets
for travelers from western Canada. Down the road, the carrier seeks to expand
service to Hong Kong and other parts of Asia.
MY Airways long-term vision calls for scheduled flight service – over the next fiveyears – but Ho is focused on growing business in a measured way, starting withthe charters.
Growth through competitive pricing, terrific customer service and choice of
destinations is the aim of MY Airways. Although airfares have yet to be
determined, Ho guarantees they will be less than Air Canada
The airline has temporarily taken over the former Vancouver airport operations
center of Canada 3000, but plans to establish corporate headquarters in a
Vancouver office building. The airline intends to hire 150 employees over the
next few months.

Disregard my first post on Canada West Airlines.

Canada West Airlines is the latest in a possible stream of new Canadian carriers. It has been formed by a group of former Canada 3000 pilots and hopes to operate international charter services from a number of Western Canadian cities.A start date is scheduled for the middle of the year.
