I'm sorry, but TWA employees are not all that bad off. Sure, they may have lost their occupational seniority, which affects bidding of shifts and vacations only. Whatever seniority they bring over from TWA, they still keep in terms of benefits and pay ... So in actuality, when they came over to AA they immediately saw a pay raise, better benefits and better retirement packages. Now if AA never bought them, could they claim such a bargain? Standing in the unemployment line with 35 years of seniority would do them no good! I'm really tired of hearing all of these TWA employees bitching, when it could be all so different for them ... Especially post 9/11. Good God!
