What is the longest flight you have been one? Mine is from Los Angeles to Sydney on Qantas Airways. The flight was about 14 hours long.

This past Thanksgiving I flew Delta from JFK-SLC (SLC was a stop before going on to PHX) on a 757-200. Then on the return trip from PHX-ATL also on Delta on a 757-200 (on the next leg of that trip ATL-JFK I got to fly on a 767-300 for the first time)

JFK to JHB on South African. About 14 hours flying time, complicated by a 1hr 44 minute delay at JFK because a driver off a "Gate Gormet" drove into the #3 engine.

Miami - Cape Town - Miami on SAA in October, 1999. Each leg was a little over 14 hours with the northbound leg the longer of the two. Flew kitty corner across the Caribbean and across Eastern Brazil.

UAL JFK-HKG on a 744. It was about 15h 40min. That doesn't include the six hour delay at JFK because there was a typhoon in Hong Kong; and the ten hour wait in Shenzhen, where the flight was diverted, because the Hong Kong airport was closed due to strong winds. The flight home was much more pleasant. We must have had a strong tailwind because it was "only" 14h 40min.

For me, it's SFO-TPE, which can run about 13 hours and change, depending upon winds.

HKG-EWR-HKG. On the return going West (actually, more like North and then South!) for about six hours saw nothing but ice, snow, and the occassional very cold water. Pretty neat.

AKL-SYD-BKK-LHR, with stops (and aircraft problems) over 40 hours from start to finish. Longest single flight would be the last leg of that trip at around 13.00hrs, although LHR/SIN is about the same.

Mine was ATL-JNB on South African Airways. Flighttime - 15hrs. 25mins. non-stop. Aircraft: Boeing 747-400 unnamed.

The return flight stopped on the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The flighttime was 18hrs. 20mins. Aircraft: Boeing 747-400 named "The Great North"

I've also flown on the old MIA-CPT and JNB-JFK routes with SAA. Their other international class aircraft that I have flown on are "Ibayhi", "Bloemfontein", "Kempton Park" and "Vulindlela".

I guess I´m holding the record up until now:
36 hours. Papeete (Tahiti)-Frankfurt with 4 (!) fuelstops with a ultrahigh-density crappy old Charter-Tristar. Nothing I would do again, but I had no choice of airline.

Longest nonstop: FRA-CLK with CX B744. About 12 hours. Economy class, but still ok. CX is a great airline and a 744 the best airplane for such a long trip.
