American is the largest international operator at ORD, and United is the largest overall.

United has around 43% market share and American 29%.

As for the Pacific, United flies nonstop to Tokyo (twice daily), China and Hong Kong. American just goes to Tokyo.

American does fly nonstop to more cities in Europe though.

At ORD for AA, you will see EVERY kind of plane AA operates. However, lately i have been seeing more 767's and 777's (it seems like).

I dont think AA operates the A300 into ORD or DFW at all.

At ORD, with UA you see mostly the 737-200/300, A320, 757. These probably make up about 80 percent of the equipment you'll see in UA colors, with the 737 predominating. The rest being 767, 777, and 747.

With regard to AA, you see all types, but by far, the MD-80 and Fokker 100 make up the majority (probably 80%).

Hope this helps.

The 737-200 has been out of UA's fleet for some time now, but you will see the 737-500.

Chicago is United Airlines' mother hub. United is Chicago's hometown airline. Begining tomorrow, United will be offering flights hourly to SEA, SFO, LAX, DEN, MSP, BOS, EWR, LGA, DCA, IAD, PHL, ATL and DFW.

United offers service into and out of Chicago on the most widebodies of any other carrier in the Chicago market. Out of Chicago, there are 747s, 777s, and a lot of 767 operations. There are also tons of Airbusses, and 737s along with quite a few 757s. United's entire fleet passes through ORD at sometime or another.

While American may have more international flights out of ORD, United is very strong using it as a world hub, connecting all of the continents and star alliance hubs. Domestically, Chicago sees a very large United mainline presence.
