EasyJet Colours

Sat Jun 08, 2002 12:40 am

I'm not a great fan of the easyJet orange and feel its a bit over the top.

With the Go Fly acquisition likely to go ahead, isn't it a good oportunity to do a bit of rebranding with different single colours for aircraft according to base.

ie LTN based aircraft would keep orange, GVA (EZS) based would get Red, STN based would get green etc. This would then mean that at BCN you would see different single coloured aircraft according to base.

Any comments

This wouldn't make much sense, as they have to be able to change the bases of its aircraft at every time.

Forget the base related colour thing then and lets have a bit of variety instead of just orange.

Orange and white is the corporate colour of the entire easy*** empire which ranges from aircraft to internet cafes to car rentals and beyond.
Everyone all over Europe knows who they're dealing with seeing something with the word Easy in orange/white. Changing that because someone doesn't like the colour orange would not be a smart business move, such a change would cost them maybe a billion Euros to regain the lost brand recognition (plus the added cost of actually rebranding everything from letterhead to storefronts to cars and aircraft).

Yeah and doesn't easyCar in orange and white look great on a silver Merc?
I think not.
The www.easyGroup.com is about seven years old and has grown enormously, rebranding will need to be done fairly soon I reckon.

The orange/white of Easyjet is part of their brand, just like the Virgin Red, as soon as you see the colours you know straight away who you are dealing with. It takes a long time to build a brand recognition like that, and to change it would be throwing away years of hard work to build it up. Just look what Tui have done to Britannia by taking away their logo.

What is the Easyjet brand trying to sell you?
Cheap flights, not style and elegance!Their colour scheme is catchy and easily recognisable-ideal for marketing.Who would have thought Orange would become the name of a leading mobile phone network!
