Galaxy Airlines, When, Where?

Fri Sep 24, 1999 5:17 pm

I have seen a photo of some CV990 from Galxy at the beggining of the 1980's. What operator was it?? Where did they flown? Did they ordered directly the Convairs or leased them from somewhere??

RE: Galaxy Airlines, When, Where?

I remember Galaxy. They flew in the early to mid 80's. They operated I believe just one Convair 990 and some Electras. One of their Electras was involved in a serious accident in Reno that killed just about everyone onboard. There may have been one survivor. Anyway, the FAA shut them down for awhile and they eventually went bankrupt. The same company that owned Galaxy also owned a company called CCI that flew a 707.
