What Is Your Favourite Inflight Drink?

Sun Jun 09, 2002 8:00 am

OK Guys, I will not annoy you but here is an other "What is your favourite..." topic. I am just interested what do you like to drink when you are flying.
When I am flying it depends, in the morning I order coffee, during the day I am drinking soft drinks or juices, and when I am on an evening flight I order a beer. On longhaul flights I am always drinking water during the whole flight.

United's mai-tais are second to none!

Usually though it is apple juice in the morning and diet coke (now pepsi) or water in the afternoon.

I have a strange tradition of only drinking Ginger Ale on planes. I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. Every time I drink a Ginger Ale now I begin to think about flyin.  Smile

Excellent work flybulldog. I too, fervently believe the experience of flying can only be enhanced through adult beverages.

Mornings....bloody mary.
Afternoons....beer.
Evenings......vodka/tonic.

Nothing like being slouched down in first class, in a dark cabin, while the movie rattles, enjoying a nice buzz, hurtling through space at 500 mph.

Amen to that Travatl!

Nothing like a nice buzz at 35000 ft. I don't see how alcohol stems air rage. Having a buzz on a plane pretty much puts me to sleep. It is very relaxing. I guess some people just handle aclcohol differently. I'll usually have a Dr. Pepper in the morning if I am in the U.S. But in the afternoon and evenings I switch to cocktails.

It all depends.
OJ works anytime, often when im flying i have OJ cravings.
I love a good Dr. Pepper but i never find them, after that, Sprite/7 UP, Ginger Ale, Coke, the usual.
Never Al-key-hall though, never ever EVER!

Whatever the stuff in the little airline-size liquor bottles is, it goes straight to your head- good stuff. hehe- no, just kidding. My parents always get a bloody-mary though- helps them through the flight, if you know what I mean....

Anyways, ice tea is fine w/ me if they have any, otherwise I'll usually have some juice or a sprite to cope with the altitude.

Speaking of Inflight Drinks, When I went to ATL in January from GPT. This dude tried to carry two huge bottles of Heinekin (I am talking 3.5 foot bottles) on the plane with him (You can get them down here on the coast)... The Gate Agent would not let him take them on the plane. So he stayed behind with his beea... I guess if you lived in ATL and couldn't find 3.5 feet bottles of beer, you'd wanna stay with your big bottles of beer. I later found out he took the later flight without his beer (I saw him walk up the gate in ATL a few hours later with only one bottle) Kinda makes you wonder what happened to the other.  Big grin

Ginger Ale and Coke on most flights

Thai's orange juice is the best!

And Singapore Slings on most night flights...SIA has the best Singapore Slings and their special boarding cocktail is good too...and their sunrise surprise is a damn good non alcoholic cocktail to wake up to...a mixture of all these juices with soda in it...

Whenever I fly to the USA I always ask for Root Beer. Don't have that at home. Unfortunately, I rarely fly US airlines so I hardly ever get it. Water will do nicely.

Korean Air's Pinapple Juice is sooooooooo NICE!! I loved it!! The Flight Attendants would come by every 15-20 mins with it, and water, and serve it to the Passengers!! It seemed that the other Passengers liked it also!!

On Air New Zealand I prefer Tropical Fruit Juice!! (Just Juice ofcourse)

I like Apple Juice. But the problem is that SQ always serves three choices of drinks, Orange Juice, Water, or Wines/Champange. They should add Apple Juice onto that tray!

That depends. On short flights in the morning I prefer Coffee for sure. But on short back flights in the evening, mostly on LH-flights I like to drink a Beck's or two. On long distance routes it is a personal choice to have alcoholic drinks or spirits. I am drinking water only water ..  Innocent

I'll have a Bacardi and Coke. I ask the F/A for a special setup (which usually pi**es them off). 2 mini bottles, two glasses with ice and the whole can of Coke. This way I can mix them according to my taste and I don't have to bother the F/A again. I don't like them too strong and they last longer too.
