Best Seats On US Airways B762?

Mon Jun 10, 2002 8:07 am

As I'll be flying US Airways B767-200 on the MUC-PHL route in early July, I'd like to know which seats would be the best in terms of legroom. Is there a possibility to reserve seats in advance for their flights? Furthermore, what is their service like on transatlantic flights? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try to get a seat in row 5 or 12. I took this flight PIT-LGW in 1996. It was not that pleasant in coach.

Funny story: On June 11, 2001, I was in terminal C (ground level) at MUC right next to a USAirways 767-200 boarding to go to PIT. This man was pushing this cart full of food, and it tipped over, and all its contents went off the forklift and all over the place! Pretty funny! Oh yeah, they'll fly MUC-PHL? Odd. Anyway, I love Munich, I always reminisce about it in my head. I hope to go back there again someday!!

US allows pre-reserved seating on all flights. Phone 0 180 300 0609 from within Germany to speak to an agent.

There aren't any good coach seats on the 767. Do NOT choose row 12; although it is bulkhead and emergency exit, there is very little legroom and you will have a queue of passengers waiting for the toilet next to you during the trip. Row 5 is typically blocked for airport check-in of families.

Service is typical transatlantic: lunch after takeoff and snack prior to landing. 2 films shown on an overhead screen (in front of row 5 and 12) or a monitor (over row 22).

BTW, US has never flown PIT-MUC (as least not as scheduled service). It has always operated to/from PHL.

I flew AMS-PHL last christmas and i found their transatlantic service to be quite good. this also goes for the legroom. not bad at all.

They deserve a high mark on movie selection as wel as cabin crew kindness.
the only bad thing I can think of is the small old 767. but hey which airline is perfect.

Have a great trip.

flown many times on their 767 to Rome, London, and Amsterdam. in coach its not bad. the food is good, the FA's are polite, and the seats are comfortable. of course Envoy class is better  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
