Tango 732 At PHL

Why was there a Tango 732 at PHL at 7pm on 6/11(parked at the hammerhead)? Also why was their a Jazz CRJ at PHL at the same time, is that the flt from Montreal? While we are on the subject of the hammerhead, have any new details come out of what airtran is goin to do with its gates?

Might be as simple as an a/c switch or something. Perhaps a Mainline AC732 went mechanical and all they had as spare was a Tango 732?
As for the RJ, the Jazz RJ's have been into YQT operating AC flights from YYZ. Again sounds like an aircraft sub.

Ac probably was using the 732 as an aircraft switch.
In LAS they sometimes use a Tango A320 which still has business class configuration on the YYZ/LAS route

Yes, that was an aircraft substitution for the Avro to YYZ. That has happened on a few occations. They have also used a A319 from the mainline AC service.

As far as the hammer head is concered thins are going great. They are currently installing the in ground fueling. Once that is finished the jetway from D-9 will be repostioned to is new home out on the hammerhead.

There is now a rumor going that FL doesn't want all four gates as they originally wanted. They may take only two. If this is true one has to wonder what will the other two gates be used for?

UA has already used D-15 and D-16 as overnight hardstands after irrops the other day. UA had aircraft on every UA gate including the closed D9 and D12 as well as D15, 16 and one at the Old International Terminal. Thats the most airplanes UA has had on the ground in PHL, that I have seen since 9-12.

what time were all these UA planes at the terminal and how many were there?
I can probably see Airtran only taking 2 gates at the hammerhead, but the other 2 or still up in the air. The city in continually expressing their interest in low-fare carriers, but what are they doing? they have 2 brand new gates that will probably be empty, that they could use for low-fare carriers

Aren't there also plans to build a similar hammerhead on Terminal E? Doesn't seem that's necessary until the fully utilize D's new gates...

Actually, that Tango B737 was operating unbder Air Canada 317 to Montreal, as I was spotting when the flight landed. The plane parked at gate 38 in Montreal.

I believe the substitution was done because the CRJ was already overbooked by a large number........

Jazz has two flights (shootable) to PHL. One is BAe-146 and second one is CRJ.

there are plans to build i believe 4 gates at E as well, however i think they are still in the initial design stage still.

Tuesday the 13th was when UA had all those airplanes on the ground.

I have also heard of those plans for the expansion of the E terminal. I think that the airport would be wise to get as many gates as possible built. Not only would it attract more low fare carriers but I believe it would spur some growth in the carriers already established in PHL.
