US Airways To The Eastern Caribbean

Thu Jun 13, 2002 4:43 am

US Airways has signed quite a few cooperative agreements with Eastern Caribbean airlines, namely Caribbean Star, Winair, and apparently Nevis Express too. Are they planning on increasing significantly in the St. Maarteen and Antigua markets, hubs for Caribban Star and Winair. St. Maarteen only gets weekend flights from Philly and Charlotte, while Antigua only has a Saturday flight from Philly. Certainly these agreements, along with the new St. Kitts and Grenaga flights, suggest that US Airways is ready to give AA and AA Eagle a run for their money in the region.

Does anyone have any info on service increases to the larger hubs in the area, ie. Antigua, Barbados and St. Maarteen.

US Airways will have to add a significant amount of flights to the Caribbean for them to give AA a run for their money in the Caribbean.
