Loads To Bangkok From Europe

Thu Jun 13, 2002 11:24 am

Hey, I am going to try and non-rev to Bangkok from Cdg on Air France during July, and was wondering what the loads are normally like. I will have very low priority as I am the son of a Delta employee. I have not picked the dates yet, but any help is REALLY REALLY appreciated.

Also, does anyone know what loads are typically like to Phuket? Probably from BKK on Thai. How much would and ID90 cost on them? Thanks alot!

From Bangkok to Phuket on THAI you will be flying on either A330, 777, A300, 747, or 737-400 depending on the time of day you will be travelling. During the Summer season, expect the flights to be filled with holiday makers, and many European tourists. If you book soon you can have a round trip costing aroun 129 USD.

I agree with pacificflyer: you will save yourself a lot of grief if you just get a regular ticket for BKK-HKT; I've gone down to Phuket a few times from BKK and the flights have always been full. The cost of the ticket is worth the piece of mind for that leg, I would think.

I'm flying to CDG from Auckland in late June, returning late July, via Bangkok on Thai. I wanted to change my dates slightly but it is absolutely chocker-block at the moment. All my flights are packed out.

I'm guessing the same would apply to Air France.

Flights BKK-Europe-BKK are pretty solid especially around European holiday times. I had to use my booking guarantee (god bless Senator status) to get myself a seat on BKK-FRA on Jan 1 - without that I would have had to have flown 15 days earlier or 15 days later...

Ive flown BKK-Europe (and back) twice in the last year and on every leg the plane was pretty much packed (odd seats here and there (which is fine for you as you only need the one free seat on a staff rate))...

Anyway have a nice one!

I just got back from Rome on SIN-BKK-FCO-BKK-SIN on Thai and the flights were fully booked-all of them.

Delta15.
I don't mean to put you off but all the worst nonrev horror stories from any of myself or my colleagues (except for the notorious SCL-IPC) are, to a certain extent getting into BKK, but mostly getting out of it... My girlfriend had to buy a confirmed ticket BKK-KUL-LHR on MH, not very convenient at the end of a holiday when the credit card is nearing meltdown... She was stuck for 5 days and couldn't get on any of the BA/QF flights (Oneworld standby tkt) but apparently the situation was similar for all the carriers...
Also, it is usefull to note that extra revenue-generating cargo will always have the priority over non revs and sometimes flights leave with empty seats on board due to weight restrictions...
Have you any possibility of organizing a back-up ticket coming back via Japan/US... I know it sounds ridiculous but it seems a lot easier to get out of BKK travelling eastwards...
Best of luck!
Which part of "NO" do you not understand?

Wow this is... extremely depressing... I was really looking forward to doing this but I guess me and my brother will have to find some other place to go this summer. Thanks for the replies.
