The bilateral air services agreement between India and the UK will be renegotiated/renewed during talks next week. The meetings will take place on June 20-21 in London.
The UK is seeking rights to additional frequencies between LHR and MAA, as well as access to nonstop markets such as BLR. However, the Indian side is making a precondition of additional slot awards at LHR for Air India before any additional services to India will be approved. Air India is seeking to increase their fifth freedom flights from Heathrow, as well as provide additional nonstop service to other destinations in India.
