TWA Repainting

Wed Jun 19, 2002 12:54 am

All ex-TWA MD-80's and 757's have been repainted, finally. The ex-TWA 767 are not being repainted since the plan is to return them to their leasers. Three 717 were repainted, that effort was stopped when it was decided to return them to Boeing.

Even though the folks at TWA LLC did a good job striping and buffing their planes you can tell they had a coat of paint on them.

LMP--They are getting better about shining the -80's. I flew this weekend and didn't see much tarnish like when they first came out of the shop.TC

I noticed in the last 757 in this photo that the paint was already peeling and the "TWA" on the tail was beginning to show.
