"I Still Call Australia Home" with Qantas.
"Up up and Away" with the former TAA, although it was first used by, I think, TWA.
And, illogically, "Goodnight My Someone" from "The Music Man" with the original PanAm, as they used to play it when it got dark on international flights.
Cheers

Actually not a specific one, I tend to associate each of my plane trips with the music I hear from the IFE program. So everytime I hear one of the songs again later, it gives me a kind of a good feeling. Thi sphenomenon even works if it would be a song or interprete I would normally steer clear of, but as we all know, the choice on board is limited.

Sabena - Adiemus isn't Enya, Adiemus is Adiemus.

For me, 'Pokarekareana' or Bette Midler's (sp?) 'Wind Beneath my Wings' remind me of Air New Zealand.

"Leavin' on a Jet'plane" by Peter, Paul and Marry,
and, in a funny way, "Overdue Goodbye" by Anastacia. I've been always listening to this beautiful song while I was uploading my photos.

Pachabel's Canon, This music was from the Air & Space museum's movie "To Fly" Just listening to it makes me think of the "Blue Angels"

Rhapsody In Blue, Nothing says UA better. Getting that music was genius by someone at WHQ. Now Marketing is run by a bunch of idiots, but at least they are smart enough not to dump it.

Sweet Home Chicago, whenever I am landing at ORD I hear Jake and Elwood singing this song.

I have this tape I bought in CLUB MED as a child. I play it relligiously whenever I fly. Whenever I play if I feel like I'm flying. Oh, and there is this song by the Beatles..."Fool on the Hill" that one connects me to AA because I first heard it on an AA MD-80 from LGA-MIA. Then I heard in about 100 times more on subsequent flights. Also that song that Delta used to use in commercials. Its like yadda yadda yama yame yame yame oh!

First thing that comes to mind is a passage from Mozart's opera, Don Juan -- the one where Leporello, Don Juan's faithful servant, tells the story of how many lovers his master has had across Europe, and at the end he boasts, proudly singing in loud Italian: "But in Spain... but in Spain, already one thousand and three!"

The reason is that I heard it recently on a Delta 777 flying ATL to Paris. IT was blasting in my headphones, I was slightly dizzy from the wine, and I was listening to glorious loud Mozart while shooting through the dark sky at 30 000 feet over the big blue ocean. I was so happy I wanted to scream! My seat mates must have been wondering why I had a smile from ear to ear.

Rhapsody in Blue completely reminds me of flying.

Also, whenever I hear "Danger Zone" from Top Gun, I think of a takeoff.

"Question Of Balance" by the Moody Blues. It revives the feelings I had the first time I did a take off in a 727! The chorus of the song still brings back memories of the turn into broken clouds right after take off. I can still see/feel it when I hear this song!

"Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd.

"Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles. When I was younger my older brother would let me borrow his tapes to play on my Walkman when we would fly somewhere. He had a lot of Beatles tapes. Since then, I always think of flying when I hear that song.

I have a couple...

Every time I am at YYZ I seem to hear the song "This Flight Tonight" by Nazareth.

But the song I associate with Air Canada is Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford..."Another day older and deeper in debt"...sorry, I couldn't resist.  Big grin

VirginFlyer, Delta used Enya's Adiemus for a commercial back in 1994. Here's a link to view the ad. http://www.airodyssey.net/articles/tvc2.html

QANTAS - I call Australia home...I used to remember the words by hard when I was in school and kept singing it in class.

Singapore Airlines - You're always there, across the world, I see a smile,I see you care, Singapore Girl, you're a great way to fly. Sigh... what happened to the "Singapore Boys"??

China Airlines- We treasure each encounter sung by popular Taiwanese singer Emil Chau. But I'd bet they treasure each crash encounter! Hehehe... sorry, bad joke.

On the Delta thing-

Adeimus is the name of the song. I have it on a pure moods CD. It is NOT sung by Enya. The Choral Group who is singing it is also entitled Adeimus. This is their 'name-song'.

My favorite music for airplanes would be.......

Signs of Love- Moby (CD- "18")
Most of Moby's "Play"
Snoopy vs. the Red Baron- Guardsmen
The theme from "Airplane!"

And a whole bunch more. I burned a CD with 18 songs all about planes. I am gonna need a new copy soon.....  Big grin

I also have to say "Rhapsody in Blue"

but:
somehow that old polka "I don't want her you can have here she's (they are) too F@? for me" for Southwest comes to mind
(please note the poor attempt at humor in the Southwest "joke" above, it is in no was ment to insult anyone, but only to bring a wry smile to the PC crowd"

Yours

Delta radio has a real good country section. I listen to it when I non rev. One that really hits home to is "Right where I need to be" since I am traveling a lot and miss my girlfriend when she is working and not flying w/ me.

CX's commercial in the 70s and 80s always had this orchestra-like melody, lots of violins etc...I have no idea what that tune is called...

I just heard it over the radio while driving last night and it immediately reminded me of CX... I could even picture the TV commercial in my mind!
There's always a better way to fly...

For more information on Adiemus (which is obviously not terribly well known when people confuse it with Enya - talk about not enough public recognition!), take a look at http://www.adiemus.com/adiemus_story.htm

Voyager by Daft Punk
Trans-Europe Express by Kraftwerk (the one from 'The Mix')

Also, Adiemus is also a bit hit in my books.

And finally, I usually associate Leftfields 'Song of Life' with take-off, as it starts gentle and then on the point of rotation, it explodes into a wild melody.
