Picture Of TNT Tu-204

Fri Jun 21, 2002 6:11 am

Looks great, Im glad a major operation like TNT opted for the 204F, hopefully others with moderate cargo services like Sri Lankan, PIA, Air India, Royal Jordanian, Kuwait Airways and TMA as well as carriers from the west will also opt for the type.

That's the first side view I've seen of the Tu-204. Front 3/4 views, if you don't see the winglets, make it a bit hard to tell from the 757. A full side view such as this leaves no doubt. Good looking airplane.

I wonder why its so hard to differ it from the 757... heh... heh.....

Why were sales for this plane so low?

It looks really nice!!!

How many TU-204F will TNT take? Will they stay egyptian registered or will they receive a belgian one?

It was on the news about 3-4 months ago, TNT said that they would by 20-25(?) aircraft if they like them. One aircraft Tu-204-100F (PA-64021) operated for TNT by Air Rep but this aircraft was powered by PS-90A engines. From what I know TNT was happy with it. Now this aircraft here has RR engines and hence probably has a better performance than PS-90 version.

I really hope that TNT likes this plane and orders some in the future.

OMG..its a 757 with winglets.....and a different nose section...and different main gear. j/k...it really does look like a 757 with winglets. I wonder when thats gonna catch on. Nice looking plane though. I would love to see some Russians beauties over here in the US. I love the way the IL96 looks.

What's the current production rate of the Tu-204 - how long would it take for an airline wanting a decent sized fleet of these aircraft to acquire them? What is the likelihood of production continuing on for some time into the future? What is the technical support like? What financing schemes, in particular aid with conversion, are offered?

These are important questions that airlines would need to have answered before they decide on this aircraft.
