EAF 742 To Montreal Tomorrow.....

Sat Jun 22, 2002 7:36 am

According to the Manchester Airport movements system, there is going to be a European Aircharter 747-200 flying to YMX tomorrow, at about 0930 local from Manchester.

The aircraft will be G-BDXJ, as seen below with the yellow stripe....

It will operate as flight EAF408P MAN-YMX, although the aircraft is currently operating a MyTravel Airways flight, MYT258 ACE-MAN in place of a MyTravel aircraft.

So get your cameras out, you guys in Montreal!

What airline is EAF operating on behalf of?

I noticed on the CAA's website that this week they applied for a license to fly between Montreal and London (LGW & STN)
The CAA website also shows that this week EAF have been awarded the rights to fly from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester to Orlando Sanford.

Any news regarding the rumor that the owner has sold his F1 team to buy an additional 6 B742s?

Regards!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

This A/C might be for Canada Air Charter, a new charter airline based out of YMX.

Maybe it's a secret mission to pick up the English soccer players who are trying to quietly sneak back into the U.K. through Mirabel when nobody's looking.

Maybe the EAL 742 will whisk Jean Charest (and his ego) out of Quebec after his electoral humiliation this week!

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Flying to YMX? I thought that had (or was about to be) closed; sure it isn't YUL?

Apart from the F1 charters and the Canadian routes (how often), can anyone provide a list of the routes flown by these aircraft? Out of the 5 originally purchased, 2 are to be used for spares, one is the F1 charter aircraft (in a 200 seat premium configuration - which is 'BDXH, the one time Mt. Gulanggang glider!) and the other 2 are for standard charters.

No... Check the database... All five have been painted in European colours.

G-BDXE - red (active last week)
G-BDXF - green (just painted)
G-BDXG - pink (active in East Midlands yesterday)
G-BDXH - blue (active 9th June - photo on this site)
G-BDXJ - yellow (active as described above)
There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots

I think they're definately operating flights between Glasgow and Orlando Sanford soon because travel agents have been advertising the flights in newspapers. Are they planning to start services from London too?
Did Monarch pull out of Florida because the market's too saturated? If that was the reason then why are EAF going to fly there with even bigger a/c?

Anyone know what configuration the a/c will operate on the MCO routes?

Cheers

EAF 742-CAC742

This may have something to do with it, Looks like another setback for Canada Air Charter...

Decision No. 334-A-2002
June 19, 2002
APPLICATION by European Aviation Air Charter Limited carrying on business as European Air Charter for 1 authority and a program permit to operate a fifth freedom advance booking charter round-trip flight between Montréal (Mirabel), Quebec, Canada, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on June 10, 2002, using a 440 seat B747 aircraft, on behalf of Canada Air Charter; and 2) exemptions from the application of paragraph 50 1 b, section 52 and subsection 110 1 of the Air Transportation Regulations, SOR/88-58, as amended.
File No. M5000/E193
CONCLUSION

Based on the above findings, the Agency, consistent with paragraph 22 b of the ATR, hereby denies European's application for authority to operate the proposed fifth freedom charter flight between Montréal (Mirabel), Quebec, Canada, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on June 10, 2002.

As the application for authority to operate the proposed flight is denied, it is not necessary for the Agency to address the application for the exemptions from the application of paragraph 50(1)a, section 52 and subsection 110(1) of the ATR.

This Decision takes effect on June 7, 2002, the date on which its content was communicated to the parties of record.

What's the reason for the denial?

In english it means that Canada Air Charter sold tickets with-out an operating certificate or an exemption from the CTA, they then contracted Kelowna/Air Culumbus, and Skyservice to operate flights on their behalf, now they want EAF to fly charters for them from YMX instead of the existing agreements with Kelowna and Skyservice. Both those airlines and Air Canada have objected to EAF having fifth freedom rights in Canada, and so the application has been denied....
