Virgin Atlantic Toronto Route

Mon Jun 24, 2002 11:20 am

Hey, Does anybody know if Virgin is planning on starting the Toronto route up again? It only ran from last June until Sept when it was cancelled as a result of Sept 11th. I would LOVE to travel on them from Toronto.

I'm not much of a traveler but I tried to catch a picture of this plane here in Toronto a couple of times, but always seemed to miss this bird Sad So, I sure hope they re-start this route.... By the way, does anyone know if there is a possibility that VA might use their new A340-600's on this route?
I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

VS has made vague comments about restarting service in the near future when the conditions are right.

It will happen. YYZ is the 5th largest intercontinental market from London...it's too large to ignore.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Well, it is indeed, according to Tango, Jetsgo, Canjet & Skyservice.....all of whom chose YYZ as their primary market, despite the freedom to choose YUL, which they bypassed.

Flying to LGW probably didn't help that much either.

You're right Raj, but VS had used all of its LHR slots for other routes. An LHR-YYZ route would have attracted higher yield business (despite the awful T3 at LHR).
