Four Engined Narrowbody At NCE...

Wed Jun 26, 2002 1:25 am

... on Sunday 23rd June 2002, and it wasn't a BAe 146 or RJ 100.

It was parked in Bay 25 between Terminal 1 and terminal 2, and had a green stripe down the side and wing tips. I think the registration was VP-BHM.

I'm just curious as to what it was. My guess is Russian. Any suggestions?

Il76.

Hmm, I've been sent back to this page to elaborate on my attempted post. Okay, it was probably an India Lima Seventy Six.

Richardw: Haven't you yet seen a DC-8? Russian aircraft?  Big grin VP-B.. means that this nice DC-8 is registered on the Bermudas.

Whose is it? I remember seeing the Qatari Emir´s A340 at NCE 7 years ago, when his son had staged a coup and sent off his old men into a Côte d´Azur exile. (Man, life can be hard sometimes, huh?  Wink/being sarcastic )

I must confess that I have never seen a DC-8 before, hence the question.

Thanks for the answer, I was peering out of the Go Fly B737 at the time departing for STN.
