Nice Touch For Tu-204 Interior

The seats fold forward to provide more room if no one is seated ahead of you, so maybe you can even rest your legs on them.

It surprised the hell out of me the first time i saw it but it is actually a good idea. Boarding and disembarking goes a lot smoother with the extra room.

This is pretty cool & the extra leg room must make a big difference if you're lucky enough to have the seat in front of you unoccupied.

I remember going from LHR to BUD in a MALEV TU134 around 1984 and the one memory about the flight was upon landing all the empty seats folded forward, a very strange sight indeed.

Wouldn't that be a bit of a safety hazard if you have a window seat and the two seats next to you are folded down? You'd have to climb over the seats to get to the aisle in case of an emergency. Maybe not too difficult of a task for most, but anyone even a little motion disabled could have a problem.

So desirable - placing my tray of food where someone else's foul feet just were.

Weren't the middle seats in economy class on the first 767s designed in the same way, providing a centre table if the seat wasnt occupied?

No, no, no. The seats do not fold down for you to put your feet on. That is your own table, for Christ's sake. Do you do that at home? Most seats fold down like that to make room for a stretcher to go thru the cabin if loaded from the front end. And for emergency situations too. In fact the ones aft of exits do not fold down.

Seats on the Tu-154 fold forwards as well...but since the seat pitch on Georgian Airlines is about five yards, you hardly need it. Big grin

Doesn't look like a very good table to me. Perfect Idea putting your feet up, and btw

I think that... there is no tray table in the seats, and even if there were, they'd be putting their feet on the underside of it....

Sorry guys but that isn't an original idea. Every commercial aircraft that I have been on has seats that breakover. Sorry don't remember the actual amount of force that needs to be applied to make the seat breakover. Seven lbs seems to stick in my mind for some reason.

We wouldn't have been able to put injured people in stokes baskets on the aircraft otherwise.
