Help Me Find What Planes I Was On!

Wed Jul 03, 2002 1:34 am

My interest in aviation has only increased in the past year or so.

I have not been on an aircraft since 1999. I do however, still have my boarding pass.

I don't remember what kind of aircraft I was in, but I was wondeirng it I posted the details of the flights, if someone could get me info on what kind of plane I was in, or even cooler, the registration number.

Two flights.

The first:

American Airlines Flight 349 on August 3, 1999 out of LGA, bound for O'Hare at a boarding time of 5:30PM. I sat in seat 24A

The second:

American Airlines Flight 366 on August 31, 1999 out of O'Hare, bound for LGA at a boarding time of 1:30PM. I sat in seat 10D.

Can you folks find anything for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

-Phil

For flight #1 and # Im tempted to say it was either an MD-80 or 727-200. How many seats were there in a row?

I'm not sure. Might have been 2 and 3. It was 3 years ago, so I don't quite remember much.

Then you're not that interested are you? I suspect an MD 80, though....

I have a copy of the August 1999 OAG and here is what you had:
Flight 349: MD-80
Flight 366: MD-80
If you need anymore North American flight information from Sept. 1995 to the present, let me know
Chepos: AA hasn't operated 727s between LGA and ORD for a long time.

Caravelle,
I think BigPhilNYC meant that he is now getting into aviation but back then when he took those flights he wasn't.

Anyway, now that we know the answer, I still would have guessed MD-80 on both flights.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

No problem Phil. I've collected all the OAG's my dad has given me since September 1995 and its nice to put them to use.
American Airlines Flight 349 Departs 6:00 PM Arrives 7:26 PM The meal was a bisro bag you carried on board.
American Airlines Flight 366 Departs 2:00 PM Arrives 4:59 PM The meal was a snack for first class customers so some delishious peanuts for you my friend.
Thanks for asking me to do this, i should dig these old things out more often. They bring back fond memories. I checked out HNL services, DC-10's L10's and 742's across the board almost. Anything else i can do?

http://www.bts.gov/ntda/oai/DetailedStatistics/

This is a great website, it lists reg info for flights in the US from Jan 1997 to present day. I attemped to look now, but the website is down for routine maintenance, but it should be available again soon.

CMK, Those details on arrivals of those fligths are amazing to me too. They bring back memories.

Those two flight were when I went into the US Navy. Naval Recruit Command is in Great Lakes, North Chicago. The Us Governemtn flew me on Americna Airlines for $91 each way.

I was discharged a few weeks into bootcamp because of problems with my back. That explains my flight home 4 weeks later.

How do you know the registration numbers? Is there a certain web site that has this information?

Anyone know if these planes are still in use? What are my chances of seeing them at LGA again?
