What Happened To ValuJet's MD 80's

Wed Jul 03, 2002 6:39 am

J7 operated at least 4 MD 80's in '96 what happened to them. They got rid of them shortly after they ceased operations back in 6/96. Which airline received them?

Valujet never flew their MD80s after the tragedy that Sabretech caused. They flew them in 1996, and only 1996. (5 months approximately). They flew the DC9-21s from 1995 to June 1996. The only plane they flew after the crash was the DC9-30

I used to work for J7 up until they ceased operations 6/17/96. I can remember flying the MadDog after the crash. They flew the MadDog's to IAD,MOB, LGA, VPS. How long after the crash did they fly the MD80?

The MD80s continued to operate until Jun 17, 1996, the date of the shutdown. (The crash was May 11). Also, there were six more MD80s in refurb at the time of the shutdown.
