Talk is that there's no place at EMA for ERJ-145s from next spring, so the supposition that EMA'll go all Baby might not be far wide of the mark. Absolute disaster as far as I'm concerned if it happens. Just booked two tickets EMA-AMS return on BMI mainline for £27 plus tax, and based on the fares Baby are charging on their existing services I'm hard pressed to see how Baby will do it much cheaper if they take over - but of course with Baby all the extras like food and drink will be on top no matter how much you pay.
Actually, leaving aside the few extra destinations they're serving where comparisons aren't possible, that's all Baby is doing as far as I can tell - same or pretty much the same fares as BMI mainline used to have if you book far enough in advance, but with all the extras taken away. Nice cost saving exercise for BMI in reality, that's all.
Scam in my book - tell people they're getting low fares, have a few headline cheapies displayed on the web-site, and everyone believes it.
