Have a look at this thread, there you'll find what easyJet is planning to do if they'd get slots for all planned routes:

The most obvious is PRG, when it is likely to be part of easyJet. BTW looking at the go winter timetable, I notice Saturday afternoons don't have many departing flights from STN, what are they likely to do with this gap?

Go wont be opening a new base next year...

The Easy Slot Applications are just that... ignore where the aircraft are going to...

Expect a few new destinations from BRS and EMA this winter

BTW, does anybody know if Go will discontinue serving BFS, EDI and GLA from October 28. They published winter timetables for all routes except flights from/to BFS, EDI and GLA. It would make some sense, as EZY operates several routes in competition with Go, such as LON-EDI, EDI-BFS, GLA-BFS etc.

go probably haven't put the winter domestic flights on sale yet because they assume these would be changed by easyJet.

I guess new destinations will be added by summer next year, after the consolidation of all 3 airlines is done. At least that's what I hope, as fast and massive expansion is in my point of view the main reason for airlines going down. And I am really hoping they will then start domestic german routes, including out of FRA, where it hurts LH the most. Germany seems to be the last european market with out a real low-cost domestic market.

Do Italy, Spain, and Portugal have a real low-cost domestic market?

Good one.....not sure about Spain and Portugal, but Italy had several start-ups in the last years and I guess the Volare group was intended to be low-cost. Haven't kept track there. But surely domestic flights there don't cost as much as flying to JFK out of the major airport, as it is the case in Gemarny.

Milan LIN for Easyjet from Paris....

It seems more a dream than a real possibility.
If I'm not wrong GO has 6 slots (3+3) in LIN and it uses only 4 today (to STN). New slots aren't available. The only way Easyjet could start LIN-CDG/ORY flights is getting some slots from AZ/AF if EU anti-trust will sentence them to reduce the number of flights between LIN and CDG.
But if this will happen, from what I hear here in Italy AirOne is planning to start this flight (they own many slots in LIN, so this isn't a problem).

Seems like there is an opportunity for Buzz in the German domestic market, could get in there for a while before easyJet asserts itself

Go has never put both the Domestic and International schedules on sale at the same time.

Domestic flights are booked later than International flights, and they have no plans to drop any services this winter, but operate more and more flights.

Italy and Spain have a very interesting domestic market.
First of all both have many islands and so the plane is the favorite way to travel.
In Italy unfortunately there aren't any real low cost carriers in the domestic market, but in the last years the fares dropped down, so if you book early or if you fly during some day in off peak time you could easily find good deal.
Volare signed a code-sharing deal with Alitalia few weeks ago.
On some routes like PMO-FCO or CTA-FCO you could find 5 airlines.
Every day on newspapers you could see many add with one way flight for 30/40 or 50 Euro.
Alitalia for example offers for this summer a one-way ticket from Milan to South Italy for 45 Euro if you fly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Meridiana every month sell many seats for 40 Euro one-way.
AirOne offers on all the routes from FCO many seats for 50 Euro one-way if you book one week early.
Also Volare, Panair, Free Airways, AlpiEagle offer very interesting deal.

This summer from FCO Alitalia offers 141 daily domestic flights (mainly with MDD-80) and AirOne 45 (all with B737s).

Ever wondered why Buzz never publish load factor reports??? They don't have to, neither do GO, but Buzz has something to hide... the fact that they are in a pretty poorly shape, even on a 146!

From what I can gather they are having difficulties with the new french routes, and loads are still in the mid 30%'s on some of the routes..

If they can't fill Bergerac, Brest, Caen in July, what chances do they have in January?

IMHO, Buzz may not survive past this winter without yet another complete restructure. problem is that each time they do this, they have to completly remarket the routes...

The profitable routes Buzz have (CDG, FRA, DUS, TXL) are all ex-KLMuk routes, but now coming under pressure from FR and GO/EasyJet.

If Buzz Goes, thats the end of KLMuk... the end of an era.

Regarding LIN from Paris, if AF/AZ want anti trust, they will have to shed slots. Air One and EasyJet will have to fight over the slots, and EasyJet will come out on top.

Liverpool is Objective 1 area, so slots are available for LPL - LIN, so is EMA, and TXL.

I never considered Buzz a 'real' (easys' Stelios often uses that phrase) low-fare airline. I know the FRA market and there it, beside the STN-route, just seemed like a name change of AirUK to a more trendy one. I as well expect them to go down this winter or at least try to turn around with a dramatic changes (route-cuts). Yet another proof that 'big' airlines can't run low-cowst departments.

LPL-LIN is not possible due to Bersani Act that ruled all flights from/to LIN.
In UK only London (LHR/LGW/LTN/LCY/STN) could get a non stop flight from LIN.

AF/AZ could always decide to reduce the number of flights between LIN-CDG without sell any slots cause both AirOne or Meridiana own enough slots to start 2 daily LIN-CDG ( the max number allowed by Bersani act).

Errr......there's nonstop flights from MAN-LIN on BA, and also from BHX I believe.

Go NCL-STN is on sale for the winter, with frequency up to 4 x Daily, from 2 x daily since the routes launch last November to 4 x Daily this winter, way to go Go  Big thumbs up

BA flights from MAN and BHX to Milan are to MXP.

In any case GO has two free slots so maybe they could increase from two to three the number of daily flights to STN or give to Easyjet slots to fly LIN-CDG.

If Buzz Goes, thats the end of KLMuk... the end of an era.

What does KLMuk has to do with Buzz? Buzz is a brand just like KLMuk. As long as KLM wants those brands to remain in operation they will. However, KLM already decided that both the Buzz as the KLMuk brand will disappear. Buzz will be merged with the Basiqair brand and then rebranded (this can happen very soon). KLMuk will be merger into KLM Cityhopper eventually (no timetable set yet).

I only wonder what the new Buzz/Basiqair will do. Will they concentrate on STN, AMS or both. If you ask me they'll concentrate on AMS (Basiqair is doing very well here in AMS and poses a big problem for EZY on some routes).

Regards
Laurens

Laurens,
I agree with you.

Since Basiqair is part of KLM, it's better if they prevent EZY to improve its operations out of AMS.
They have more room to expand than in STN where the pressure of GO and FR competition is very high.
At the end for KLM is the same if you fly with the main line or the low cost division. The most import thing is tring to keep new competitors far from the AMS hub.

The obscure French destinations served by Buzz are summer only destinations. In Winter they will serve their winter only destinations - Milan, Chambery, etc.

Some clarification,

Airports located in Objective 1 cities can operate routes into Linate.

KLMuk is being merged with CityHopper.... Buzz with Basiqair... So, whats left of KLMuk then? Maybe the KLMuk head office at Stansted will become the EasyJet head-office?

Since when were the Buzz obscure routes launched as summer only?

They have a lot of routes to drop if they do so for winter? What about those french domestic services from the smaller airports. They they have to find new winter destinations to launch. Chambery and GVA are once weekly and mostly pre sold as charter flights, and Buzz have left Lyons. Go have now gone daily to Lyons, so that option is also closed now. Expect to see x2 daily by Go on peak days, similar to last winter. Interesting to note that Buzz have not yet launched their winter schedules yet... I dont expect to see many of the obscure routes surviving... but that wasn't the plan. If Summer routes dont make money, they are in trouble.

Go have no free slots at Linate. Remember, if airlines dont use the slots, they loose them!

Can't see easyJet/Go keeping 1 flight per day to Linate, doesn't really appeal to the Business traveller.

Slots not used in LIN could stay in standby for 6 months.

The airport offer 18 slots per hour between 06-23 with 6 more slots available 07-10 and 18-20.
