US Airways pilots have accepted a pay cut which would decrease the airline's staff bill buy US$465 000 000.
In addition, US Airways has applied for a US$1 000 000 000 loan from the US Government.
The deal with the pilots is valid until 2008. It is hoped that this cost-cutting measure ensures that US Airways will get the loan.
Last year, US Airways lost US$ 2 100 000 000 and is looking to save US$ 1 300 000 000.
